Yes, suet is not that healthy.. but don't mess about making dumplings with anything else.. this is the best addition to a stew for an all time favourite winter comfort food

6 oz self raising flour

3 oz suet

pinch of salt


mix the dry ingredients, then add enough water to be able to bring the mix together into a not very sticky ball. Roll pieces into balls, about the size of a golf ball, and drop into your stew, allowing enough room for them to swell up.. Cover and simmer for about 15-20 minutes
