nettle beer
3 litres of nettle tips
water
8oz demerara sugar
yeast
1 lemon
Pick only the nettle tips
of young nettles. Cover with two litres of water, and the thinly peeled
lemon peel. Bring to the boil and boil for half to one hour. Strain
onto the sugar. Add the lemon juice and cover. When cooler, add the
yeast. Leave in a warm place (like the kitchen) for 3-4 days. Bottle
in ex-fizzy drink bottles and let stand for another day or two. When
the bottles feel 'tight' move to the fridge and leave for another day
or two.
