pumpkin washcloth

 

Really simple to make, so long as you are able to knit, purl, cast on and cast off!

you will need:

orange cotton yarn

green cotton yarn

(I used sirdar luxury soft cotton, but any DK cotton will do)

4mm needles

the ability to knit!

abbreviations:

c/off = cast off

K = knit

P = purl

K2 tog = knit two together

M = make a stitch

instructions:

cast on 10

  1. knit row
  2. M 2 K to end M 2
  3. knit row
  4. M2 k to end M 2
  5. knit row
  6. M 2 K to end M 2
  7. knit row
  8. M2 K to end M 2
  9. knit row
  10. M 1 K to end M 1
  11. knit row
  12. K8 P12 K8
  13. knit row
  14. M1 K7 P14 K7 M1
  15. knit row
  16. K7 P3 K10 P3 K7
  17. knit row
  18. M1 K7 P1 K14 P1 K7 M1
  19. knit row
  20. K16 P1 K15
  21. knit row
  22. K15 P3 K14
  23. knit row
  24. K14 P5 K13
  25. knit row

  30. K2 slip first stitch over 2nd stitch K6 P3 K11 P3 K5 K2tog
  31. knit row (30 stitches)
  32. K8 P1 K13 P1 K7

  34. K2 slip first stitch over 2nd stitch, K26 K2og
  35. knit row
  36. knit row
  37. knit row
  38. K2 slip first stitch over 2nd stitch, K24 K2tog
  39. knit row
  40. K2 slip first stitch over 2nd stitch K22 K2tog
  41. knit row
  42. c/off 3 stitches, K to end
  43. c/off 3 stitches, K to end
  44. cast off remaining stitches

for the stem: using green yarn pick and knit 12 stiches, in the middle at the top of your pumpkin. K 3 rows, then cast off.

Sew in ends.
